Citadel Battle is the tenth main Story Mission. This is quite a challenging mission, and may be an obstacle for new players. Much of this is due to the Baphomet boss with his large HP pool and highly damaging attacks. The Heavy Infantry enemy (previously featured in the skippable Gate Defense mission) is also no slouch.

This is yet another branching point in the story. The Royal Road is the continuation of the main story here, and Remnant Vanquish 2 is a side mission.

Completing this mission will increase the player's unit capacity by 4.

Anna: This fort once defended the area but monsters overtook it.

Anna: There are many still inside. Reports tell of large monsters too.

Anna: Only recapturing this fort will eliminate the threat. Let's go.

(Clear)

Anna: Spectacular work, my Prince.

Anna: This region should now be safe from the monsters' attacks.

Anna: It's a small village, but an important step on our quest.

(After clear screen)

Anna: Preparations are finally in order. We are approaching our kingdom, now controlled by monsters.

Anna: As we will be entering their headquarters, this is sure to be a difficult battle.

Anna: But I believe that you, my Prince, shall be victorious. Let us take back our kingdom--our home!

This stage introduces the enemy Baphomet, while you had to deal with a more powerful one in Cloris' Urgent Mission Drill (Witch Feast) this one is not as powerful and shouldn't give you as much trouble compared to that one, don't use a ranged units skill until the end so you can bombard the final enemy rush.

Place Katie on the upper spot of the intersection near the HQ (spot D), then place Bashira on the center lower area of the upper grass area (spot T) to help deal with the Goblin Soldiers. Place Phyllis on the spot below Katie (spot I). Katie's skill should be ready so use it and bring Soma on spot W on the map. Wait until you have enough UP to place Valerie above Bashira (spot Q). Phyllis' skill should be ready so use it and bring Mortimer on the spot above Katie (spot A). Katie should have her skill ready again use it and bring Iris on the ranged spot closest to the melee units on the upper grass are (spot S). Phyllis' skill should be ready again so place Cloris on the spot closest to the upper camp exit (spot R). When you have the UP place Roy on the spot closest to Phyllis (spot V) and a Heavy Infantry should be coming around to Mortimer activate his skill. Withdraw Mortimer after the Heavy Infantry has been defeated and place Leeanne in front of Katie (spot E). Withdraw Phyllis place the Prince in her spot before the Ogre and Archer reach it. Place Alissa on the spot under Soma (spot Z) to delay the Archer from reaching the Prince while the Ogre moves in his direction.

When you see the Baphomet appear from the center camp exit activate everyone's skill except Bashira's until the enemies are in her range, when the Baphomet reaches Leeanne her skill should be ready so use that to keep her alive while she is blocking it. Max unit capacity will increase by 4 after finishing this stage.

Citadel Battle
  1. Before the sortie, make sure the Prince is set to the best "Skill Effect" Title available. (Descendant of the Hero is fine.)
  2. Deploy Katie level 1 in spot D.
  3. Deploy Phyllis level 1 in spot H.
  4. Deploy another copy of Phyllis level 1 in spot E.
  5. Use Katie's skill when it becomes ready.
  6. Deploy Valerie level 1 in spot W.
  7. Deploy Soma level 1 (30% affection) in spot T.
  8. Use skills of both Phyllis when they become ready.
  9. Deploy Alissa level 1 (30% affection) in spot Q.
  10. Use Katie's skill again when it becomes ready.
  11. Deploy another copy of Valerie level 1 in spot S.
  12. Use the skill of Phyllis at spot H when it becomes ready.
  13. Wait until the enemy Mage is killed (if it hasn't happened already).
  14. Withdraw Phyllis from spot H.
  15. Deploy Dorca level 1 in spot V.
  16. Deploy Eunice level 1 in spot A.
  17. Use the skill of the remaining Phyllis when it becomes ready.
  18. Wait until Eunice is at a sliver of health and then withdraw him. (The Ogre should be almost dead. Generally, the last hit to Eunice should be an arrow.)
  19. Wait until the remaining Phyllis is about to die from center Ogre, then withdraw her.
  20. Promptly place the Prince in spot E to block the center Ogre.
  21. Deploy Leeanne level 1 in spot I.
  22. Use Katie's skill again when it becomes ready.
  23. Withdraw Katie before she dies to the enemy Heavy Infantry.
  24. Promptly place another copy of Leeanne in spot D. The blocked enemies need to stay in range of Valerie (and preferably Soma as well, but this shouldn't be critical).
  25. Activate the skill of Alissa.
  26. Deploy Calliope level 1 in spot R.
  27. Deploy Cloris level 1 in spot U.
  28. When the Leeanne at spot D is no longer engaged with any enemies, withdraw the other Leeanne from spot I. (Leeanne at spot D is preferable because she is in range of both healers.)
  29. Activate the skill of Dorca.
  30. After the second-to-last enemy Archer has passed, deploy a second copy of Calliope level 1 in spot X.
  31. When the Baphomet appears, activate skills of both Valeries, then Calliope (only one will be ready) and Cloris.
  32. After Leeanne is no longer engaged with any enemies, withdraw Alissa.
  33. Deploy Mortimer level 1 (or any other decent duelist) in spot P or spot O to block the last enemy Archer. (This should prevent the second Calliope from dying.)
  34. Withdraw the Prince before the Baphomet hits him a second time.
  35. If the Baphomet reaches Leeanne, withdraw her before it hits her a second time.
