Villager Rescue 2 is the seventh Story Mission. Although there is only one base, it can be hard to defend due to enemies attack from all sides. In addition, the Mage enemy is introduced. His magic attack will ignore defense (although some units like Valkyries have magic resistance), and it will also cause splash damage to other nearby units. This splash attack makes unit spacing especially important.

Off to save even more villagers! This map introduces us to the Mage enemy type, an enemy that in my opinion is the biggest pain in the ass in the entire game (to a point, anyway, after that things change...a little <.<), but as there are only two in this stage, and they appear at very different times and locations, they are easily dealt with.
First off, place Katie on the lower road, on the spot where the path curves up. After she's in place, you'll want to put your secondary Soldier unit (I placed Crave on my run of the stage, so I'll be specifying this as him now) on the spot to the lower left of the house, to block the incoming Goblin. Now wait a little, until you have enough UP for an Archer and place one on the ranged spot behind Katie, near the house. By now Katie's ability will be ready to use, so use it and get a healer, who will be placed on the spot behind Katie as well, but to the back. It'll be the last open spot before the wreckage and fire on the lower part of the map. With these guys in place we're almost done, all you'll need now is a healer for Crave and his group, place her on the lowest spot to the left of him, an Archer, right on the spot above that, and after that we place the prince on the other side of the house (it'll come in handy, and the Healers can reach him, so no trouble there) and if you want to hurt your enemies even more, put a Mage above Crave's Archer, and watch and things die all around you.
